Social Media for Clubs
If you haven’t caved to the pressure of adopting social media accounts yet – it’s time to get social!
Social media is the current word-of-mouth strategy, great for community outreach and club promotion, with many businesses and organizations putting it to use. It’s a no-cost marketing technique that engages internal groups while also showing off the benefits of joining your club to potential members.
It’s simple – showcase all the good stuff, while leaving out the bad stuff… right?
Why should we use it?
Social media helps you attract new members, keep existing members engaged, increase member participation, promote events and activities, post job postings, increase event promotion, and broadcast competitive results. You can also share and like other organizations to show support.
What social media sites should we use?
Keep it simple – use one or two of the most popular social media sites. According to comScore’s 2013 Canada Digital Future in Focus Report, the top three Canadian social networking sites are Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. While Facebook is maintaining a strong lead, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Pintrest and Instagram have shown large growth ever since 2013.
