Grant Funding for Clubs
With so many great ideas floating around clubs, it’s important to find the right people and the necessary means to put those ideas into action. One great way to bring those innovative ideas into fruition is to apply for grants.
What types of grants are available?
In general, there are three types of grants that an organization can apply for:
Operating Grants
These grants are for an organization’s ongoing programming funding needs and can be single year or multi-year grants. For example, if you are looking to cover staff salaries for an ongoing program, you would seek out an operating grant.
Project Grants
Project or program grants are for one-time program or activities with a specific time frame. As with operating grants, project grants can be single year or multi-year.
Capital Grants
This type of grant offers funding for physical needs like facility renovations or equipment purchases. You will find that the these grants favour those looking to encourage inclusive facility and equipment use, as well as renovations to become more environmentally friendly.
How will I know what the grant can be used for?
When researching grant options, it is important to review all the information about each specific grant. Grant applications will specifically outline what they will and won’t fund. Knowing what you need funded will help you decide which grant to apply for.
